UFC 118 odds

Frankie Edgar pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year a few months ago, can Edgar beat Penn again?   I guess it depends which BJ Penn shows up, but I believe the good Penn will regain his belt.  When BJ Penn cares, he dominates, and he should dominate this rematch, possibly setting up a rubber match at the end of the year.

Randy Couture vs James Toney will be the most intriguing match of the night.  The uber trash talking Toney will try to connect his face with “The Natural’s” face.  I don’t think he will connect, and Randy Couture’s greco roman wrestling skills will come out on top and be the difference maker.

Demian Maia should win easily in his match with Mario Miranda.  Lock of the night, though many sites do not have this line up at all.  Curious what the line will be set at.

Kenny Florian vs Gray Maynard should be a good fight.  Kenny does good in every fight except for championship fights where he fights badly.  Gray will bring it this time out, more than his brawl with Nate Diaz the previous fight (in which he almost lost).  Hard to bet against KenFlo, but I think these two are moving in opposite directions.  Go with Gray for the upset.

I really like Nate Diaz in his fight vs Marcus Davis.  If he starts employing some of his brother Nick’s jab strategy, it will work like a charm against Marcus.  Keep picking away at him, and if it goes to the ground, good night Marcus Davis.

On the preliminary card, Andre Winner is a good pick to win.
