MMA Event & Fight Cancellations

Wow, so many fight cancellations recently, and now the whole Affiliction Trilogy on Aug 1 has been cancelled!

After Josh “babyface assassin” Barnett screwed everybody else by testing postive by steroids, it set off a whole wave of potential fighting partners for Fedor Emilianko.  But the list of who could fight: Vitor Belfort, Jeff Monson, Tank Abbott … who really cares, that aint a main event.

Now the next Strikeforce event is in trouble.

Joe Riggs vs Nick Diaz is now cancelled.  Jay Hieron will be replacing Joe Riggs.  This follows the earlier cancellation of the Alistair Overeem vs Fabricio Werdum fightfight.  Also reports have it that Josh Thompson hasn’t fully recovered from his injuries and his rematch with Gilbert Melendez is in question.  Hopefully one of Gina Carano or Cyborg Santos doesn’t get injured.

Forget Hong Man Choi – Shaq wants Lesnar!

I guess Shaq just wants to go straight to the best and fight Brock Lesnar.  As posted by Dana White on his blog

“Shaq texts and Twitters me all the time saying he wants to fight Brock Lesnar. He’s been training for 10 years; Shaq’s probably the only dude in the NBA that can actually fight … I told Shaq, I said listen, ‘Win another NBA championship this year and then we’ll talk next year.’”

Maybe if Shaq loses this fight he can pull a Lebron and have the videos pulled!

Shaq vs Hong Man Choi?

After watching Jose Canseco give a valiant effort in his mma match versus Korean giant Hong Man Choi, Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal has issued his own video challenge.  See the video here

Shaq might be just trying to be his funny self and jokingly promoting this fight, but a Shaq vs Hong Man Choi fight would be interesting!  Stay tuned..  and maybe Shaq will be able to ask Hong Man Choi “How does my ass taste?”
